Searle Freedom Trust Post-Doctoral Fellowship
The Searle Freedom Trust Foundation has awarded SIEPR a significant amount of money to fund promising young Ph.D scholars to
continue their research on how market principles and data analysis can improve economic policy. There can be substantial
improvements in economic policy through analysis of data and understanding of how markets and public policy interact. These
young scholars will spend two years at SIEPR with other policy-oriented economists. They will also have a modest teaching role
that should provide a means for them to positively increase their research productivity and policy impact.
Searle Postdoctoral Fellowship in Applied Economic Policy. Application Deadline: December 1, 2007.
The Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) invites applications for a two-year (2008-2010) Searle Freedom Trust
postdoctoral fellowship in domestic policy economics. The goal of the fellowship is for promising new Ph.D. recipients to continue
applied policy work for two years before entering the academic job market. There will be a stipend of up to $100,000 per twelve months
plus support for a research assistant. Recipients will teach one course per year in the economics department or public policy program.
Research areas can be any applied domestic policy research.
SIEPR is a Stanford University research institute and is closely tied to the economics department, business school and law school
at Stanford. SIEPR scholars conduct studies on important economic policy issues in the United States and other countries. SIEPR's
goal is to inform and advise policy makers and the public, and to guide their decisions with sound policy analysis. In the course of
their research, SIEPR faculty train, educate, and support Ph.D. students as future economic policy analysts. For more information
about SIEPR, see http://siepr.stanford.edu. Deadline for receipt of all materials
is December 1, 2007. Address all materials and queries to Ms. Dafna Baldwin, SIEPR, Stanford University, Landau Economics Building,
