Mackenzie Lee is a senior majoring in Public Policy with a concentration on politics regarding the European Union, as well as a Management Sciences & Engineering co-term with a concentration in Organizations, Technology and Entrepreneurship. His interests lie in social entrepreneurship, business, and development policy.
As an undergrad, Mackenzie’s favorite class has been Organizations: Theory and Management which explores the theory and behavior of individuals, groups, and organizations. This class ultimately motivated him to apply for the MS&E co-term program.
Mackenzie has spent three summers working as a research assistant for the Freeman Spogli Institute on a project focusing on militarized interstate disputes and leader accountability in non-democracies. He has also studied abroad in Paris and at Stanford in Washington. In D.C., he conducted research at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars regarding a U.S. development initiative in Southeastern Europe.
Outside of academics, Mackenzie enjoys singing in the Stanford Chamber Chorale and playing violin in the Stanford Chamber Music program. As the French House Theme Associate, he organizes the in-house conversation, cooking, film, and wine tasting classes.
Next year, Mackenzie plans to complete his co-term degree in the fall and apply to law school.
