Professor Haber's
research focuses on the relationship between political organization and economic growth. Most of this research has focused on Latin America, particularly Mexico and Brazil.
He is currently researching issues of market failure and distributional conflict in international political economy, and the historical practices of sovereignty especially with regard to domestic autonomy and non-intervention.

His teaching interests include Comparative Politics, Economic History, the Economic Consequences of Authoritarianism.
