Catering Information

SIEPR does not have preferred caterers. You may choose to work with an on-campus caterer, or use an outside vendor of your preference, as long as they have the required permits and liability insurance. You are responsible for making sure that any vendors you hire are properly insured. Review the Standard Insurance Requirements policy. ALCOHOL

If you plan to serve alcohol at your event, you must follow all university alcohol policies, as well as all federal, state and local laws. More information can be found in the Stanford OSEP Catering and Alcohol Service website, and specifics about requirements and liscenses are outlined the Alcohol Service and Licensing Requirements policy.
 

KITCHEN AMMENITIES:

  • Note: use of kitchen only available with rental of the Koret-Taube Conference Center
  • First floor SIEPR building, adjacent to Koret-Taube Room 130 through swinging doors
  • Large stainless prep table (8x3)
  • Storage rack, hanging space for linen
  • Double sink, dishwasher, disposal, filtered water faucet
  • Full-sized rerigerator, small freezer drawer
  • Microwave, toaster oven, small coffee maker
  • No disposables, serving trays, linens, utensils, etc are available
     

FACILITY POLICIES

  • No objects (waste cans, tables, etc) may be placed within 3 feet of the paintings in first floor lobby
  • Only propane or sterno burners may be used for buffet lines
  • No open flames anywhere on site, including courtyard
  • All food and leftovers must be removed immediately after the event
  • Equipment left on site for delivery must be removed the same day or have next-day pickup approved by SIEPR in advance
     

ACCESS

  • Drive-up delivery and parking is available immediately outside the Koret-Taube Conference Center kitchen behind building
  • Entrance to this parking lot is located off Memorial Way
  • Catering vehicles must use the rear entrance for food delivery and may not double park on Galvez Street
  • (2) 20 minute loading zone parking spaces without permits required are available behind building, but are not reliably available
  • Parking permits are required M-F 8am-4pm. Permits to be provided by client by contacting Parking Transportation Services

OUTDOOR COOKING AND GRILLING

Space is available in the parking lot behind the building for outdoor cooking booths / tents. Parking spaces must be reserved with proper permits by client, even if usage is planned outside of M-F 8am-4pm. Portable cooking booths:

  • Must be located a minimum of 20 feet from any permanent structure.
  • Maintain a minimum of 10 feet of separation between cooking booths and non-cooking booths.
  • Cooking booth vendors shall provide a portable fire extinguisher for each cooking booth.
  • Charcoal barbecue cooking shall be located a minimum of 10 feet from any booth
     

Outdoor grilling / charcoal barbequeing is allowed in the Cynthia Fry Gunn Courtyard. A 15 foot buffer is required to be maintained from any permament structure (building, courtyard pergola, palm trees). In addition, SIEPR requires that charcoal grills must be 25 feet from the building. A fire estinguisher at each cooking site is required. In accordance with local air quality policies, charcoal barbeques are not allowed during spare the air days or red flag warning days.
