Event Details:
Location
This year’s Stanford Digital Economy Lab Annual Workshop will feature short research presentations, extended Q&As, and a keynote speaker—and will be one of this year’s prime opportunities to discuss and debate with the brightest researchers in the field. This event will be fully virtual.
The focus for this year’s workshop, “All In Good Measure,” is how we measure productivity and the impacts of automation and AI across industries and around the world. In addition to our sessions focused on measurement, we have selected a subset of new and exciting research projects from the Lab’s other research areas: AI & the Future of Work, Digital Platforms, Data-Driven Decision-Making and Management Practices, and the Economic and Productivity Impacts of COVID-19.
We’ll conclude the day with a session dedicated to the AI Index, which tracks, collates, distills, and visualizes data relating to artificial intelligence.
Our workshop will feature the keynote presentation, “What Don’t We Know About Measuring the Digital Economy?” by Diane Coyle, the Bennett Professor of Public Policy at the University of Cambridge.
The day-long session will also include deep dives into the latest methods, trends, and data in measuring the digital economy. S-DEL researchers will share current research capturing a cross-section of exciting projects geared towards measurement. The workshop will include extended Q&A sessions to encourage feedback and discussion.
Our annual workshop is open to members of the Stanford community, as well as Lab supporters and Corporate Affiliate members.
