SIEPR's next installment of the "In Conversation With" event series will feature SIEPR Director Mark Duggan and SIEPR Undergraduate Research Assistant Emma Hou. Mark and Emma will be joining us online on May 17 at 3:30 pm PT to discuss their upcoming policy brief, "Empires and sunshine: The economic policy paths of New York and Florida."

About the Speakers:

Mark Duggan is The Trione Director of the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) and The Wayne and Jodi Cooperman Professor of Economics at Stanford. His research focuses on the health care sector and the effects of government expenditure programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Read more. 

Emma Hou headshot

Emma Hou is a sophomore majoring in Economics. She is interested in researching health economics and the impact of government policies and programs such as Medicare. Outside of class, she enjoys running, hiking, and playing soccer.
