Artificial intelligence appears likely to generate significant changes to the US economy, although the magnitude - and timing - of those changes is highly uncertain. While experts in the field expound a future of endless abundance, the public fears job loss from automation, growing inequality, and higher energy costs. Policymakers are increasingly under pressure to take action and need sound, evidence-based policy options that promote a shared prosperity in a time of structural economic change.
The SIEPR Fall Policy Forum brings together leading academics, experts, and policymakers to discuss how economic policy should adapt in the age of AI and to provide a set of evidence-based options for policymakers in a time of technological change.
