Mordecai Kurz is the Joan Kenney Professor of Economics, Emeritus, at Stanford University. During his long and productive career spanning over 40 years, Kurz has made enormous contributions to economic science. He has conducted significant work in many different areas including growth and capital theory, general equilibrium, game theory, and public economics. In his theory of rational belief equilibria, he focused on the concept of endogenous economic uncertainty. Kurz led the enormously successful IMSSS program at Stanford for more than twenty years.
