SIEPR Faculty Fellow Marcella Alsan— an economist and professor of medicine — and her colleague, Marianne Wanamaker at the University of Tennessee, have published a working paper with the National Bureau of Economic Research about the correlation between the Tuskegee experiment and the medical mistrust among African-American men in the years following the revelation of the study.
