Laurenz Guenther

Laurenz Guenther is a Research Fellow at the Toulouse School of Economics. He received his PhD from Bonn University. Laurenz does research on political economics with specific interests in political representation, populism, and AI. His job market paper estimated the extent to which parliaments in Europe represent the political attitudes of voters. This paper identified large and systematic representation gaps in most countries. His ongoing research focuses on estimating the effect of these representation gaps on populist voting and the ability of AI agents to identify and exploit these gaps.
