Mara Violanti

Mara Violanti is the Program Manager of the Stanford King Center on Global Development. She received her BA in English from California Lutheran University and her MS in Higher Education from Indiana University, Bloomington, and has over 25 years of experience in higher education—having worked in small to large institutions, both public and private colleges/universities.

Mara joined Stanford in 2004 working first in Residential Education before moving to the School of Medicine as the Assistant Director of Research and Scholarship. From there she served as the Student Services Manager in Materials Science and Engineering before joining the King Center.

A native of the Midwest, Mara was born and raised in Illinois before moving to Los Angeles while in her sophomore year of high school. She loves to travel and has passport stamps from Mexico, Canada, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Russia, Finland, and Bahrain.
