As SIEPR's communications manager, May oversees the production of stories and informative features highlighting the scholarship of SIEPR affiliates to expand their impact on economic policymaking.
Prior to joining SIEPR in 2016, May was a freelance writer and editor, contributing to different divisions at Stanford as well as other academic and business clients. For two decades before that, May was a journalist. She spent 10 years at The Associated Press as a national writer for the AP’s inaugural technology team, reporting on the dot-com boom/bust and the societal and business impacts of the tech industry. She’s also covered courts, crime, and politics for media outlets in the San Francisco Bay Area.
May is a native of San Francisco, and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from UCLA.
