Ryan Cummings
Ryan Cummings is a Chief of Staff at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policymaking (SIEPR), where he has been since October 2023. From 2023-2025, Ryan served as an economic advisor at MIT's Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research. From 2021-2023, Ryan was a Staff Economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers, where he covered financial and energy markets. From 2014-2018, he worked at NERA Economic Consulting in Washington, D.C. in the Securities and Finance practice, working on cases involving alleged market manipulation. Ryan received his BA in economics from DePaul University, MS in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University. He is completing his PhD in economics from the University of Washington, where he is expected to finish in June 2026.
