Vivek Viswanathan

Vivek Viswanathan is currently a policy fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. He served in the White House from 2021 to 2024 as senior policy advisor and special assistant to the president, where he worked on issues across economic, domestic, and foreign policy on the National Economic Council and in the chief of staff's office. He previously served as senior counselor to Governor Gavin Newsom in California. He is a graduate of Harvard University, the University of Cambridge, Stanford Law School, and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and is a CFA charterholder.
