Real interest rates remain at low levels and long-term economic growth appears to have slowed in the U.S. in the last decade or so.  Many people are approaching retirement age with inadequate financial resources to achieve their anticipated standard of living.  While many have speculated about the causes of the slow growth in the economy, we propose to analyze the implications for saving and retirement decisions.
